Ingredients of Rishna's Kheema
- Prepare 250 g of minced lamb / beef or combination of both.
- It's 2 of potatoes.
- It's 1 bag of spinach.
- Prepare 1 can of chopped tomatoes or 2 finely chopped fresh tomato.
- It's 1 of finely chopped white onion.
- It's 1 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste (or 2 garlic cloves and a bit of ginger blitzed).
- You need 1 of green chilli finely chopped (or blitzed with the garlic and ginger).
- You need 1 tbsp of tomato puree.
- Prepare 1 of cinnamon stick.
- Prepare 2 of whole cloves.
- Prepare 1 of bay leaf.
- You need 1 tsp of turmeric.
- You need 1 tsp of curry powder.
- It's 0.5 tsp of chilli powder.
- You need 1 tsp of garam masala.
- Prepare of Salt to taste.
- You need of Some oil to fry.
- You need of Chopped coriander to serve.
Rishna's Kheema step by step
- Heat some oil in pad with a lid and fry the dry ingredients (cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaf) for 1 minute.
- Add the chopped onion and stir for 30 seconds.
- Add the ginger, garlic and green chilli and sauté on a low heat until the onions start to soften.
- Add the chilli powder, curry powder, turmeric, garam masala and a generous pinch of salt and sauté for a few more minutes.
- Add the meat and stir for 2 minutes.
- Dice the potatoes and add to the pan.
- Add the tomatoes, tomato puree and enough water to just cover the meat.
- Cover and cook on a low heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Add the spinach and stir through until wilted.
- Check the meat is cooked and add salt if required. If there's still excess water, uncover and the boil water off.
